Abstract

Mathematics education in Indonesia faces challenges, with only 28% of students achieving minimum numeracy proficiency. This study aims to develop the Ethnomathematics Tour (E2TOUR) electronic learning medium, specifically designed to strengthen the numeracy skills of 9th-grade students at SMPN 1 Tanjungpinang. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), this study explores the cultural richness of Bintan Regency—such as the Jong boat—and integrates it into an interactive virtual tour. This study used validation and practicality instruments, with a quantitative descriptive data analysis technique through the calculation of average scores, which were converted into percentages to determine the feasibility and practicality categories of the media. The results of the validity test conducted by experts in media, subject matter, and language showed an average score of 86.39%, placing it in the “highly acceptable” category. Additionally, the practicality test yielded an average score of 72.5%, which was categorized as practical for classroom use. These findings indicate that E2TOUR is a valid and practical medium for delivering contextual mathematics instruction relevant to students’ local culture.
