Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability in Indonesia, often affecting motor functions, particularly in thehands. Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in restoring these functions. This study aims to design and develop a hand training device for stroke patients using 3D printing technology and a soft pneumatic actuator system. The process began with CAD-based design, followed by fabrication using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing with TPU material, and final assembly of all components. Testing results showed that the device could effectively perform finger flexion movements at air pressures ranging from 0.49 MPa, and was capable of gripping objects such as a spiked ball. This device offers an affordable, customizable, and flexible rehabilitation solution to assist stroke patients in regaining hand motor function.
