Abstract

Mudir as a leader in an Islamic boarding school educational institution has a significant role in the performance of the teachers. This study aims to describe and analyze the relationship between the role of Mudir and teacher performance in Pondok Pesantren Modern Baitussalam Simalungun. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used data reduction, data display, conclusion. To obtain in-depth data, the sample in this study was taken using purposive sampling technique which is a type of non-random sampling technique, with 10 people. And the results of this study show a close relationship between the role of Mudir and teacher performance in Pondok Pesantren Modern Baitussalam Simalungun. The roles played well by Mudir, become an inspiration and strength for teachers to educate students with sincerity and honesty as contained in the Panca Jiwa of Islamic boarding schools. Ultimately, it is hoped that this research can be used as a reference to what extent Mudir's role as a leader has been carried out and what roles need to be improved.
