Abstrak - Jaringan nirkabel menjadi infrastruktur utama bagi kegiatan akademik digital, termasuk akses Learning Management System dan layanan informasi akademik di Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Serambi Mekkah (USM). Peningkatan jumlah pengguna aktif menimbulkan gangguan seperti packet loss, jitter, delay, dan penurunan throughput, sehingga performa jaringan perlu dipantau secara berkala. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur dan membandingkan kinerja jaringan Wi-Fi Fakultas Ekonomi USM menggunakan dua aplikasi open-source, yaitu JPerf dan Wireshark, berdasarkan empat parameter Quality of Service (QoS): throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengujian langsung selama tujuh hari pada jam operasional kampus, masing-masing berdurasi enam puluh detik per hari. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kedua aplikasi mampu mengukur throughput, jitter, dan packet loss dengan baik, namun hanya Wireshark yang dapat menghitung delay secara langsung dari timestamp paket. Rata-rata packet loss pada kedua aplikasi berada di bawah 1%, yang mengindikasikan jaringan tergolong stabil. JPerf lebih unggul untuk pengujian cepat dan ringkas, sedangkan Wireshark lebih unggul untuk analisis mendalam termasuk delay. Kombinasi kedua aplikasi memberikan gambaran kualitas jaringan yang lebih lengkap dan akurat dibandingkan penggunaan salah satu aplikasi saja. Kata kunci : Monitoring Jaringan; JPerf; Wireshark; Quality of Service; Jaringan Nirkabel; Abstract - Wireless networks have become the main infrastructure for digital academic activities, including Learning Management System access and academic information services at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Serambi Mekkah (USM). The growing number of active users causes disruptions such as packet loss, jitter, delay, and reduced throughput, making periodic network performance monitoring necessary. This study aims to measure and compare the wireless network performance of the Faculty of Economics USM using two open-source applications, JPerf and Wireshark, based on four Quality of Service (QoS) parameters: throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The method used is quantitative descriptive, with direct testing carried out for seven days during campus operational hours, each test lasting sixty seconds. The results show that both applications can measure throughput, jitter, and packet loss well, while only Wireshark can directly calculate delay from packet timestamps. The average packet loss for both applications is below 1 percent, indicating a stable network. JPerf is more suitable for fast and concise testing, while Wireshark is more suitable for in-depth analysis including delay. Combining both applications provides a more complete and accurate picture of network quality than using either application alone.
