Abstract

The character crisis among the younger generation in the digital era poses a serious challenge for Islamic educational institutions, including Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT). This study aims to analyze the management system of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program and its role in developing the character of students at MTS Baitul Hikmah, Tasikmalaya Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, conducted at MTS Baitul Hikmaha, with the head of the madrasah, Tahfidz teachers, and parents of students as research subjects. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and activity documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings reveal that MTS Baitul Hikmaha manages the Tahfidz program systematically through four management functions: planning through SWOT analysis and vision-mission setting; organizing through clear division of tasks between the madrasah head and Tahfidz teachers; implementation through talaqqi, muraja'ah, memorization submission, and habituation of Islamic values; and supervision through periodic formative and summative evaluations. The program has been shown to contribute to students' character development, particularly discipline and responsibility, as reflected in memorization routines and the use of a daily home-monitoring book. This study concludes that a well-managed Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program plays a strategic role in character formation at non-formal Islamic educational institutions, and implies that documentation standardization and strengthened parental synergy are needed for more optimal results.
