<![CDATA[The increasing older adult population has been accompanied by a growing prevalence of physical, cognitive, and emotional health problems, particularly among older persons residing in residential aged care facilities. These conditions may contribute to functional dependence in activities of daily living, cognitive impairment, and emotional disturbances, thereby adversely affecting their quality of life. This study aimed to comprehensively describe the physical condition, level of functional independence, cognitive function, and emotional status of older persons residing at Wisma Antareja, Jara Mara Pati Residential Aged Care Facility, Buleleng Regency. A mixed-methods design with a case study approach was employed involving six purposively selected participants. Data were collected through comprehensive assessments using standardized instruments to evaluate functional independence, cognitive function, and emotional status, supplemented by interviews and direct observation. The findings revealed that most participants exhibited dependence in activities of daily living, cognitive impairment, and symptoms of depression and anxiety, particularly those with chronic illnesses and impaired mobility. These conditions were associated with an increased need for long-term nursing care. The study concludes that the implementation of holistic gerontological nursing care is essential to promote functional independence, preserve functional capacity, and enhance the overall well-being of older persons residing in residential aged care facilities.]]>
