Abstract

This study examines the evolving pedagogical landscape in primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels of Bangladeshi academia, exploring the gradual yet significant changes in teaching methodologies, curricula, and educational systems over time. It investigates how these changes affect both students and teachers, as well as the overall educational system. In recent years, Bangladesh’s secondary and higher secondary levels have introduced new teaching techniques, updated curricula, and incorporated more technology in response to global trends and local needs. This study focuses on how these changes impact students’ learning experiences and teachers’ teaching methods. By collecting data from fifty students and teachers, both from urban and rural institutions of Bangladesh, this research examines how the shift in teaching styles has influenced their daily practices. Students now have more access to digital tools, group learning, and teaching approaches that focus on their needs. However, many still face challenges, such as limited access to resources and resistance to using technology. Teachers, on the other hand, are expected to adjust to new teaching methods but often struggle to cope with due to a lack of proper training and support. The study also examines how these changes affect the whole educational system. While the shift towards modern teaching methods has led to some improvements in student engagement and results, there are still problems, such as outdated resources, that prevent these changes from being fully effective. Overall, this study provides a clearer understanding of how pedagogical changes are impacting education in Bangladesh. It also offers suggestions for better teacher training, curriculum updates, and infrastructure improvements to help create more effective learning environments for both students and teachers.
