Abstract

Managing the dual responsibilities of teaching and household duties poses significant challenges for female elementary school teachers, influencing their psychological well-being and work-related behavior. This study examines how dual roles affect stress levels, professional commitment, and work experiences among married female teachers in Buol Regency. Using the AVEM (Work-related Behavior and Experience Patterns) Test, which consists of 66 items across eleven dimensions, data from 202 respondents show that “Striving for Perfection” emerged as the most dominant behavioral pattern. Interestingly, despite increased workload and stress potential, most teachers demonstrated high work commitment, life satisfaction, and strong social support. To the best of our knowledge, this study is among the first in Indonesia to apply the AVEM Test to map work-related behavior among dual-role female teachers, offering new insights into teacher well-being. The findings highlight the need for institutional and policy-level support to maintain balance between professional and domestic responsibilities.
