Abstract

The increasing demand for sports jerseys produced through sublimation printing has substantially increased the volume of printed fabric requiring post-printing rolling, creating production bottlenecks due to limited manual material handling capacity at Brightplus Indonesia. This study aimed to develop a fabric rolling assistive device by implementing the Industrial and Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (ISE BoK), particularly the domains of System Design and Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, and Work Design and Measurement. A qualitative descriptive case study was employed using observations, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and influence diagram analysis. Two design alternatives were developed and evaluated based on material selection, manufacturability, implementation cost, and operational feasibility. The selected metal-based design required an estimated implementation cost of IDR 1,420,000. Operation Process Chart analysis revealed that the proposed device reduced processing time from 109.5 to 76 minutes per fabric roll, improving production efficiency by approximately 30% while reducing manual handling risks and enhancing ergonomic working conditions.
