Abstract

In our daily life, we need certain expenses to ensure the survival and development of ourselves. These expenses can consist ofdaily food buying, medicine or education, etc., as well as direct investment into production to create income sources for individuals andfamilies, other expenses on creating and maintaining social relationships as expenses on special ceremonies like weddings or funerals, etc.In addition, there are expenses on buying houses, equipment and household facilities. Thus, how is the reality of Vietnamese households’expenses at current time? Based on the statistics from General Statistical Office in Vietnam in the period 2002-2008, we see that theaverage expense of Vietnamese households was significantly improved in recent years. Average monthly expense of households headed bywomen is higher than that of households headed by men. Average expense gap between urban and rural areas have decreased slightly butremained large differences of the expense rate. Nationally, the biggest expense of all the households is living expense and this rate tendedto decrease year by year. The rate of living expense in urban areas was always higher than rural areas from 2002 to 2008 and theinequality of quintile 5 (the richest) and quintile 1 (the poorest) in monthly per capita average living expense is clearly shown. It can besaid that with daily expenses, women have the highest right of deciding, most men do not take part in this duty. With other expenses likechildren’s education and disease treatment, men play higher role in deciding. In buying expensive things, the rate of both wives andhusbands discussing on making decisions ranks highest.

Abstract

In recent years, many studies in Asian countries have shown increased age at first marriage partly due tomodernization (Minh, 2007; Xenos and Gultiano, 1992). Researchers have provided experimental evidences, at both macro andmicro levels, to assert that individuals who possess more modern features (higher education level, more modern professions, and living in urbanized environments) are more likely to get married later than others with less modern features (Smith, 1980;Hirschman, 1985; Smith and Karim, 1980; UNS, 1986). Besides, some other factors can also have a strong impact on thechange in marriage age in Asia such as parents’ interference into children’s marriage or national policies (Minh, 2007). Is it truein present day Vietnam? Based on the results of 2009 Vietnam population and housing census and other surveys, we can affirmthat Vietnamese’s mean age of marriage, especially men’s is rising; for women, this trend has been likely to be stable comparedwith previous decades. Vietnamese men’s mean age at first marriage is higher than women’s in all the periods and regions.Urban young people get married later than rural ones because of the pressure of jobs, income, urban busy life; marriage is notregarded as important as other things. Kinh ethnic group - an ethnic majority in Vietnam, is considered to have moreopportunities to get access to modern life, to know more about national policies so they have a trend to get married later thanethnic minorities. People working in public sector are more likely to get married later than people working in private sector orhouseholds because they suffer pressure from jobs they are in charge of in public sector, as well as seriously obey nationalpolicies related to marriage and family. People at low level of education and doing jobs concerning agriculture before gettingmarried will often get married at younger age.

Together with services of fertility health care, family planningprovided, a lot of popularizing, propagandizing activities for changing behaviors have been organized in order to equip coupleswith knowledge and encourage them to carry out the target of family planning. We have of course obtained some certainsuccess1, however there still exists the problem of couples giving birth to a third child, especially in some geographic regions, this rate tends to increase. One of the most important reasons for giving birth to a third child arise from the need of Vietnamesefamilies to have at least one son. Because the son is responsible for caring for old parents, ancestor worship, continuity thelineage, etc.

Abstract

In the context of human resources in the securities industry being depleted after the Covid-19 pandemic, with strong fluctuations and many risks, maintaining and improving the quality of human resources to meet the, an urgent new development stage for the sustainable development of securities companies. Recent studies around the world to meet the needs of workers mostly focus on fields such as banking, manufacturing, etc. The results show that leadership style or salary has a direct impact on meeting the needs of workers. However, the securities industry with young human resources in developing countries like Vietnam has its own differences. The goal of the study is to clarify the relationship between satisfaction, engagement and financial performance in securities companies in Vietnam after the Covid-19 pandemic. Sample data was collected online by the authors from 225 employees working at securities companies in Vietnam, in the period from September 2023 to December 2023. Using quantitative research on the PLS-SEM linear structural model on SPSS 20 and AMOS 20 software, the results show that securities employees are not really satisfied with their current job, identifying 2 factors. Factors that have a strong influence on the financial performance of securities companies include: (1) Training and advancement and (2) Working environment. This is consistent with the characteristics of securities human resources in Vietnam. The study adds to the understanding of meeting employee needs through training and improving the work environment, which in turn will improve a company's financial performance.
