Abstract

Technology integration in higher education continues to grow, yet its effectiveness within social science education remains uneven, particularly in developing countries. This study aims to evaluate the extent of technology integration among social science students at the University of Rajshahi, focusing on access to digital devices, technological skills, institutional support, and student perceptions. A quantitative descriptive survey design was employed, with data collected via a structured questionnaire from 104 students and analysed using descriptive statistics. Findings reveal that although most students possess computer access and recognise the importance of technological skills, practical competence remains predominantly basic to intermediate. Departments provide basic facilities such as projectors; however, formal training opportunities are scarce. Professional communication tools, particularly email, are infrequently utilised. The study concludes that a significant disconnect exists between access, awareness, and effective technology use, underscoring the need for structured training programmes and more meaningful technology integration in social science teaching and learning.
