Abstract

According to the latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO, 2023), an estimated 52.9 million children under the age of five worldwide experience developmental delays, with the highest prevalence occurring in low- and middle-income countries. The WHO highlights that developmental delays in early childhood are closely associated with poor nutritional status, inadequate environmental stimulation, and maternal and child health problems. The aim of this community service program was to improve parents' skills in providing developmental stimulation for preschool-aged children using the Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP) (Pre-Screening Developmental Questionnaire) at TK Kartini Bantul.  A KPSP-based training program was conducted using lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and role-playing activities to improve parents' competence in developmental stimulation. Following the educational intervention and KPSP-based developmental stimulation training, the majority of parents demonstrated a good level of knowledge (94.11%), indicating a substantial improvement in their understanding of appropriate developmental stimulation practices.
