Abstract

Sago (Metroxylon sagu Rottb.) is a local food commodity with great potential for development, particularly in Paser Belengkong Subdistrict, which geographically supports the growth of sago plants. The PKK group, as a women-based community organization, plays an important role in the processing and development of local food. This study aims to analyze the level of perception and attitude of PKK groups toward sago processing in Paser Belengkong District. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach involving 19 respondents who are members of PKK groups using a questionnaire. The results show that the perception of PKK groups falls in the very positive category with an average score of 4,26, the highest score was in the statement that sago processing can be a source of income with an average score of 4,68. Meanwhile, attitudes also fall in the very positive category with an average score of 4,35, with the highest support for the development of sago business as an economic activity with an average score of 4,58. The research instrument has undergone validity testing and was declared reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0, 718 for perception and 0,901 for attitude. In conclusion, PKK groups respondents showed very positive perception and attitude toward sago processing, so it is hoped that the local government can provide training and extension support to encourage the development of sago processing businesses as an effort to empower family economics.
