Abstract

The main problem faced by the company is the high percentage of defective products on the converting line which often exceeds the company's tolerance limit of 5%, with a peak reaching 5.45% in December 2024. This study aims to identify the most dominant types of defects, measure the current process capability through the DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) value and Sigma Level, and provide improvement suggestions to minimize defects. The methodology used is quantitative with a Six Sigma approach through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) cycle. The research data includes production reports for the period July - December 2024 and direct field observations. The identification results using the Pareto Diagram indicate that the most dominant type of defect is "Krepek" (surface bubbling), which accounts for approximately 55% of the total defects. In addition, there are other defects such as fractures, overlaps, and delamination.
