Abstract

More than half of the world's population lives in cities, so the increase in urban waste production globally is mainly due to population growth, urbanization, and economic development, in the past decade, the utilization of waste to energy has provided positive benefits in terms of energy generation. By 2040 power generation will increase globally by 49%. By 2040, renewable energy sources are expected to meet 8% of the total global energy demand, With the development of the economy, waste management goes through several stages to reach the level of high technology as seen today. A sophisticated collection system, combined with an efficient separation process, enables high recovery and recycling rates. The method used in this study is qualitative with a literature study approach. The findings in this study show that China is the country that researches the most about wasto to energy, then the process carried out in the PLTSa Waste to Energy Policy Model recommendations in this study involves several related actors such as Business Entities, authorized Local Governments, and communities. In this case, waste to energy needs attention by local governments that have the authority to manage electricity by establishing provincial regulations in the electricity sector, establishing general electricity plans, and determining business licenses for providing electricity to business entities.

Abstract

General Background – Health tourism is a rapidly expanding industry driven by innovation and digital transformation, offering high-quality and cost-effective healthcare solutions globally. Specific Background – Despite its growth, there is limited research on the integration of digital technologies such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and blockchain in enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency. Knowledge Gap – Previous studies have primarily focused on infrastructure, patient motivation, and service quality, leaving a gap in understanding the role of digital transformation in health tourism. Aims – This study aims to analyze trends in health tourism innovation, mapping technological advancements, policy adaptations, and business model transformations using bibliometric analysis. Results – Findings indicate that digital health solutions, particularly telemedicine and Electronic Health Records (EHR), significantly enhance accessibility and service quality. Future research should focus on data-driven technologies and sustainable business models. Novelty – This study contributes by systematically mapping digital innovations in health tourism through bibliometric analysis, offering a comprehensive perspective on the industry's evolution. Implications – The findings provide strategic insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of standardized business process modeling to enhance service efficiency and competitiveness in global health tourism markets. Highlights:  Digital Transformation in Health Tourism – The integration of telemedicine, AI, and blockchain enhances patient experience, accessibility, and service efficiency. Abstract

Introduction - Indonesia has experienced a surge in citizens seeking healthcare services abroad, resulting in a loss of foreign exchange of up to 165 trillion rupiah per year. This situation highlights the need for a competitive domestic health tourism development strategy.Purpose - The objective of this study is to develop a health tourism business process model based on the APQC Process Classification Framework (PCF) to create structured, efficient, and globally competitive services.Design/Methodology/Approach - The study employs a descriptive approach with process mapping using the APQC framework, which spans from strategic to operational levels. Data was obtained from literature reviews and conceptual analysis.Result/Finding - Findings indicate that regions such as Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Medan, Malang, and Manado possess diverse potential for health tourism development, including medical infrastructure, digital maturity, and unique cultural and natural features. The designed business process model illustrates service selection flows, actor interactions, and sector integration.Originality/Value - This study offers a new approach to health tourism business process modelling using the APQC framework, which has not been widely applied in Indonesia. Its contribution lies in the systematic design that can serve as a reference for the government and private sector.Limitation - This study is still limited to descriptive analysis using secondary data sources. Field validation or stakeholder involvement has not been conducted, so the effectiveness of the model needs further testing.
