Abstract: This community engagement program was implemented as an effort to mitigate the vulnerability of first-time voters to disinformation within electoral democracy. The program focused on strengthening students’ critical awareness as a group of first-time voters so that they could identify, analyze, and respond to disinformation and various forms of identity-based mobilization in the public sphere. The urgency of the program is reinforced by the fact that young voters accounted for approximately 52% of the total electorate in the 2024 Indonesian General Election, highlighting the importance of political literacy and disinformation detection skills for strengthening democratic quality. The program employed an Interpersonal Communication (KAP) approach through interactive dialogue, facilitation, deliberation, and the calibration of ideas within the Lingkar Ngopi Demokrasi program. The participants comprised 100 students or cadets aged 17 years and above who were identified as first-time voters at SMK Negeri 7 Kupang City. The activities incorporated electoral discussions, experience sharing, and group-based election simulation games. Program outcomes were evaluated qualitatively through interviews, interpersonal dialogue, and participant reflections. The results indicated improved argumentative abilities among participants in critically identifying and analyzing public information, enabling them to develop more rational, informed, responsible, and thoughtful political attitudes and choices.
