<![CDATA[ABSTRACT The anecdote text writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura were found to be relatively low, characterized by below-average scores and insufficient ability to construct text structures, incorporate humor and social criticism, and apply proper language conventions. This study aimed to describe the implementation of comic strip media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning in anecdote text writing instruction and to explain the improvement of students' writing skills. This study employed a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles following the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The research subjects were 36 students of class X-E9 at SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the implementation of comic strip media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning significantly improved students' anecdote text writing skills in a gradual manner. The class average score increased from 75.17 in the pre-action stage to 80.47 in the first cycle, and reached 85.69 in the second cycle. The learning mastery percentage rose from 50% in the pre-action stage to 72% in the first cycle, and reached 89% in the second cycle, surpassing the established success indicator of 85%. Therefore, comic strip media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning is proven effective as an instructional medium for anecdote text writing at the senior high school level. ]]>
