Abstract

This study aims to examine the individual effects of learning motivation and curiosity on student engagement in science learning among fifth-grade students at MI Khoiriyatussibyan during the 2025/2026 academic year. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was used. The sample consisted of 20 students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed based on specific indicators for each variable. The analysis involved hypothesis testing through multiple linear regression. The results showed that the t-test value exceeded the critical value of the t-table, and the significance level was below 0.05, indicating that learning motivation significantly influenced student engagement. Similarly, curiosity was also found to have a significant impact. These results indicate that both motivation and curiosity play key roles in increasing student engagement in science learning. Therefore, educators are encouraged to design more engaging lessons and encourage active student participation.
