Abstract

This study aims to examine the philosophical foundations of Islamic education curriculum development and strategic planning of Islamic education in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach through library research with content analysis and descriptive-interpretive analysis techniques applied to relevant literature sources. The findings indicate that Islamic education curriculum development must be built upon philosophical foundations encompassing ontological, epistemological, axiological, philosophical-anthropological, theological (naqliyah), and psychological dimensions integrated harmoniously. These foundations affirm that the Islamic education curriculum must be oriented toward forming a balanced insan kamil spiritually, intellectually, and socially. Strategic planning of Islamic education in the globalization era demands a visionary, adaptive, and collaborative approach while maintaining Islamic values as the primary compass. Five key strategies identified include Islamic-based moral standardization, students' character development, strengthening Islamic norms in personal life, fostering ummah unity, and comprehensive integration of knowledge and religion. This study concludes that the synergy between philosophical foundations and strategic planning is indispensable in realizing Islamic education that is holistic, adaptive, and tauhid-based.
