Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived trust on the intention of Generation Z in Surabaya to pay zakat through digital platforms. A quantitative approach was employed with data collected via questionnaires from 129 Generation Z respondents in Surabaya. Data analysis used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results indicate that perceived usefulness (β = 0.353; p = 0.001) and perceived trust (β = 0.302; p = 0.014) have a positive and significant effect on the intention to pay zakat through digital platforms. Conversely, perceived ease of use (β = -0.001; p = 0.989) does not significantly affect Generation Z's intention. The R-squared value of 0.297 indicates that the three variables explain 29.7% of the variance in intention. These findings suggest that usefulness and trust are the primary drivers of digital zakat payment intention, while ease of use is no longer a determining factor for Generation Z who are already accustomed to digital technology.
