Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has increased the circulation of information, including unverified information and religious content in digital media. This study aims to analyze the culture of information verification during the Khulafaur Rashidin period and examine its relevance to strengthening digital literacy in Islamic education. This research employed a qualitative approach using library research methods. Data were collected from books, scientific journal articles, and other relevant academic sources, then analyzed through content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the culture of information verification during the Khulafaur Rashidin period was reflected in various practices, including the verification of hadith narrations, the collection of the Qur'an during the era of Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq, and the standardization of the Uthmanic manuscript. These practices were based on four main values: carefulness (tatsabbut), source validation, objectivity, and information responsibility. The study further reveals that these values are relevant to contemporary digital literacy competencies, particularly in evaluating information, verifying sources, and using information responsibly. Therefore, the information verification culture of the Khulafaur Rashidin can serve as a foundation for strengthening digital literacy in Islamic education.
