Student’s mathematical reasoning ability and learning motivation in mathematics learning are still relatively low. This is caused by the learning process which still tends to be teacher-centered, so that students are less active in understanding concepts, solving problems, and expressing ideas or reasons logically. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can actively involve students and like mathematical concepts to real problems. This study aims to determine the application of the Realictic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model assisted by animated videos in improving students’ mathematical reasoning ability and learning motivation. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which is implemented in two cycles with the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflecyion. The subjects of the study werw 25 students of class XI TSM B SMKN 3 Mataram, Data collection tecniques used a mathematical reasoning ability test, a learning motivation questionnaire, observation sheets of teacher and student activities, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of the RME learning model assisted by animated videos can improve students’ mathematical reasoning ability and learning motivation. The improvement is seen from the increasing activity of teachers and students during the learning process and the increasing involvement of students in understanding and solving mathematical problems. Based on the research findings, the RME learning model, supported by animated videos, can be used as an alternative mathematics learning method that is more contextual, engaging, and meaningful for students.
