Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' sense of responsibility for the cleanliness of the school environment, coupled with the limited creative role of teachers in instilling these character values in the midst of the dominance of digital cultural influences. The main objectives of this study include describing teachers' strategies in fostering awareness of hygiene responsibility, identifying supporting factors and barriers, and developing practical models that can serve as a guide for character education. The research methodology used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings of the study show that the most effective teacher strategies consist of routine environmental cleaning activities, habit formation through concrete modeling, and the application of educational sanctions. The main supporting factor comes from supportive school policies, while the main obstacle arises from the low intrinsic motivation of students. Overall, this study concludes that the role of teachers as active role models and innovators of experiential learning plays a crucial role in shaping students' character to have sustainable environmental awareness.
