Abstract

This research is motivated by the low empathy ability of elementary school students and the lack of use of interactive learning media based on local wisdom. This study aims to develop Smart Emotion multimedia with local wisdom Menyama Braya in Indonesian language content to stimulate empathy in second grade elementary school students. The study uses the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, instructional design experts, practicing teachers, and second grade students of SD Negeri 4 Kaliakah. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis, and paired sample t-test. The results of the study showed the validity of material experts 0.97, media experts 0.94, and instructional design experts 0.96 with a very valid category. Multimedia also obtained results of practicality and effectiveness that were very practical and effective in significantly increasing student empathy. Thus, Smart Emotion multimedia with local wisdom is suitable for use in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
