This study aimed to examine the implementation of Geography learning using Wordwall media based on Game-Based Learning, to analyze the improvement of students’ learning interest before and after the use of the media, and to determine its effect on the learning interest of tenth-grade students at SMAN 5 Pariaman in Geography subjects. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample was selected through purposive sampling and consisted of an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected using learning interest questionnaires, observation sheets, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and the Paired Sample T-Test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that the use of Wordwall media based on Game-Based Learning successfully improved students’ participation and learning interest in Geography lessons. The observation results indicated a continuous increase in students’ learning activities, from 75% in the first meeting to 90% in the second meeting, and reaching 98% in both the third and fourth meetings. Furthermore, the average score of students’ initial learning interest questionnaire in the experimental class increased significantly from 65.34 before treatment to 92.81 after treatment. Improvements were also observed across all indicators of learning interest, including students’ enjoyment of learning, attention during the learning process, interest in instructional media, active involvement in classroom activities, and willingness to learn. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test demonstrated that the use of Wordwall media based on Game-Based Learning had a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ learning interest. Therefore, Wordwall media based on Game-Based Learning can be considered an effective learning tool for enhancing students’ learning interest in Geography.
