Abstract

This study aims to describe the spiritual coping strategies employed by Madrasah Aliyah students in managing academic stress. Academic stress among twelfth-grade students arises from various academic demands, including numerous assignments, examination preparation, achievement pressure, and parental expectations, all of which may affect students' psychological well-being. This research employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological design. The research participants consisted of the school principal, an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher, a homeroom teacher, a guidance and counseling (BK) teacher, and twelfth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that spiritual coping is practiced through prayer, recitation of the Qur'an, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), voluntary prayers (sunnah prayers), and reliance on Allah (tawakkul). These strategies foster inner peace, enhance optimism, and help students manage academic pressure. Furthermore, social support from families, teachers, and the school environment strengthens the effectiveness of spiritual coping in reducing students' academic stress.
