Abstract

This study examines the ecotheological perspective in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and its impact on developing students' ecological awareness. The research problem is driven by the increasing environmental crisis resulting from low human awareness of preserving nature. This study aims to analyze the concept of ecotheology in Islam, its integration into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, and its implications for students' ecological awareness. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a literature review approach. Data were obtained from various journals, books, and scientific articles relevant to the themes of ecotheology, Islamic education, and ecological awareness. The results indicate that Islamic values such as monotheism, caliphate, trustworthiness, and the prohibition against damaging nature can be integrated into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning through a contextual approach and environmentally-based activities. Implementation of activities such as maintaining cleanliness, planting trees, and environmental awareness programs fosters students' ecological responsibility. In conclusion, the ecotheological perspective in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning plays a crucial role in developing ecological awareness, which is reflected in students' attitudes and behaviors toward environmental sustainability as part of their moral and spiritual responsibility.
