Abstract

Teaching readiness is an essential competency that Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students must possess before entering the workforce as teachers. However, some students still experience doubts and lack confidence when facing teaching practice. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and teaching readiness among PGSD students at Peradaban University. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 60 students in their sixth and eighth semesters who had completed microteaching and Field Experience Practice (PPL), selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results indicate that self-efficacy has a very strong positive relationship with teaching readiness (rs = 0.929; p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the higher a student’s self-efficacy, the higher their teaching readiness. Therefore, efforts to strengthen self-efficacy through microteaching and PPL activities need to be enhanced to support the readiness of prospective elementary school teachers.
