Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students of SDI Miftahul Huda Plosokandang on addition and subtraction materials. Learning that still uses conventional methods and the lack of interactive learning media causes students to be less active and have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts. This study aims to develop the Si Kurmat (Mathematical Turtle) learning media, determine its feasibility level, and test its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 19 second-grade students of SDI Miftahul Huda Plosokandang. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, validation questionnaires from media experts and material experts, student and teacher response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests. The results showed that the Si Kurmat media obtained a very feasible category based on expert validation. Student responses in small group trials reached 93.70% and large groups 98.1%, while teacher responses were 96% with a very good category. The average student score increased from 72.5 to 84.37. The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the Si Kurmat media is feasible and effective for improving students' mathematics learning outcomes.
