Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Business Economics subject. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of using a Canva-based Mind Mapping learning model in the Business Economics subject at Muhammadiyah 1 Vocational High School, Pekanbaru. This study employs a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consist of an experimental class, namely Class X A, which applied the Canva-based Mind Mapping learning model, and a control class, namely Class X B, which used conventional teaching methods. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, the independent samples t-test showed a t-table value of 1.671 with 58 degrees of freedom, while the calculated t value was 15.379. Since t₍calculated₎ = 15.379 > t₍table₎ = 1.671, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between students in the experimental class using the Canva-based Mind Mapping learning model and those in the control class using conventional methods. Thus, the use of a Canva-based Mind Mapping learning model has been proven to have a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes in the Business Economics subject at Muhammadiyah 1 Vocational High School, Pekanbaru.
