The background of this research began from the results of observations that showed that the PJOK learning process was still less effective, especially the learning of Floor Gymnastics in Tiger Jumping material. This study aims to determine the relationship between arm muscle strength and the improvement of tiger jumping ability in floor gymnastics learning in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bojongmangu. The research problem is based on the low jumping ability of tigers which is suspected to be influenced by physical conditions, especially arm muscle strength. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research population is 148 students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Bojongmangu, with a sample of 37 students selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through a push-up test to measure arm muscle strength and a tiger jumping material floor gymnastics practice test to measure the tiger's jumping ability. Data analysis included descriptive statistical tests, normality tests, linearity tests, correlation tests, and determination tests with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that arm muscle strength had an average value of 30.70 with a fairly good category, while tiger jumping ability had an average value of 8.97 with an adequate category. The results of the correlation test showed a correlation coefficient value of 0.208 with a significance of 0.217 (> 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between arm muscle strength and tiger jumping ability. The results of the determination coefficient test showed a contribution of 4.3%, which means that most of the tiger's jumping ability is influenced by other factors. Based on these results, it can be concluded that arm muscle strength is not the main factor in determining tiger jumping ability but still has a relationship.
