Abstract

This research aims to describe the strategy employed by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in increasing students' learning motivation through the PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable Learning) approach at UPT SDN 7 Arungkeke, Jeneponto Regency, to describe the efforts made by PAI teachers in enhancing students' learning motivation through this approach, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The study was motivated by students' low enthusiasm toward PAI learning, which tends to be conventional, teacher-centered, and dominated by lecturing and memorization. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained from informants consisting of the PAI teacher, the school principal, and students, as well as documents such as photographs and student data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validity was tested using source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings reveal that the PAI teacher's strategy in increasing students' learning motivation through the PAIKEM approach was carried out by applying varied learning methods, such as lecturing, group discussion, and role play, and by creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere both inside and outside the classroom. The teacher's efforts to enhance students' motivation included actively involving them in the learning process, providing rewards, and creating interesting learning experiences through media and technology. The supporting factors identified were the creativity and commitment of the PAI teacher and the availability of learning facilities, while the inhibiting factors were students' low self-confidence and the teacher's limited digital literacy in utilizing available learning media.
