Abstract

Learning outcomes are an important indicator of success that must be achieved by students of SMA Negeri 1 Kaimana in mastering the dynamic competencies of the Economics subject. However, based on initial observations, constraints were still found regarding the suboptimal academic achievement of students, which is suspected to be related to the digital learning environment, physical learning environment, and learning anxiety. This study aims to determine the influence of the digital learning environment and the physical learning environment on learning outcomes with learning anxiety as a mediation in students of SMA Negeri 1 Kaimana, West Papua. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research type. The population in this study was eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kaimana, with a sample size of 115 respondents determined using a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires and report card documentation. The data analysis techniques used included the evaluation of the outer model, inner model, and hypothesis testing using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) assisted by the SmartPLS application. The results showed that: (1) there is a direct effect of the digital learning environment on learning outcomes; (2) there is no effect of the physical learning environment on learning outcomes; (3) there is no effect of the digital learning environment on learning anxiety; (4) there is an effect of the physical learning environment on learning anxiety; (5) there is no effect of learning anxiety on learning outcomes; and (6) learning anxiety is not proven to mediate the influence of either the digital learning environment or the physical learning environment on learning outcomes. This study contributes to enriching the study of school environmental factors and psychological aspects that influence student learning outcomes, especially in the context of education in regions with geographic infrastructure constraints.
