Abstract

Introduction: An earthquake is a vibration of the Earth's crust that causes oscillations from an unknown state to an earthquake. The occurrence of an earthquake is associated with the release of stress in the Earth's crust, resulting in elastic waves that propagate through the Earth's layers. Method: This research uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental study design by applying the one-group pre-post test design. The sample that will be used during the research consists of 37 mentally challenged students. Results: Statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating that there is an effect of education with the SIGANA animated video on the preparedness of mentally disabled children in facing earthquakes at SLB Negeri 2 Buleleng. Conclusion: With an average preparedness score of 34.78 before (pre-test) education with the SIGANA animated video, the highest score was 51 and the lowest score was 24. Meanwhile, the average preparedness score of the children after (post-test) being educated with the SIGANA animated video was 45.89, with the highest score being 60 and the lowest score being 30.
