Abstract

ABSTRAK PT X merupakan perusahaan manufaktur furnitur outdoor yang menghadapi permasalahan inefisiensi pada tata letak fasilitas produksi. Berdasarkan observasi, ditemukan alur produksi yang tidak linier dan aktivitas backtracking. Kondisi ini menyebabkan jarak perpindahan material menjadi panjang serta target produksi pada periode Februari 2025 tidak tercapai, dengan realisasi 383 unit dari target 500 unit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang (re-layout) tata letak fasilitas guna memperbaiki efisiensi aliran produksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) untuk menganalisis tingkat hubungan aktivitas, Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD) untuk visualisasi hubungan spasial, dan Total Closeness Rating (TCR) untuk menentukan prioritas kedekatan antar departemen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rancangan tata letak usulan mampu memperbaiki alur produksi menjadi lebih linier dan meminimalkan backtracking, terutama pada area Polishing dan Powder Coating. Layout Usulan berdasarkan perhitungan mampu menurunkan jarak perpindahan material dari 204.32 meter menjadi 160.54 meter, atau setara dengan penghematan jarak sebesar 43.78 meter (21.42%). Efisiensi tersebut berpotensi mendukung peningkatan efektivitas operasional perusahaan. ABSTRACT  PT X is an outdoor furniture manufacturing company facing inefficiency problems in its production facility layout. Based on observations, non-linear production flows and backtracking activities were identified. These conditions caused excessive material handling distances and resulted in the failure to achieve the production target in February 2025, with actual production reaching only 383 units out of the targeted 500 units. This study aims to redesign (re-layout) the facility layout to improve production flow efficiency. The methods used in this study include Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) to analyze activity relationships, Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD) for spatial relationship visualization, and Total Closeness Rating (TCR) to determine proximity priorities between departments. The results indicate that the proposed layout design is capable of improving the production flow to become more linear and minimizing backtracking, particularly in the Polishing and Powder Coating areas. Based on the calculation results, the proposed layout is able to reduce the material handling distance from 204.32 meters to 160.54 meters, equivalent to a distance reduction of 43.78 meters (21.42%). This efficiency has the potential to support improvements in the company’s operational effectiveness.
