ABSTRACT Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that dominate Indonesia’s business landscape face challenges in continuing to innovate and integrate information technology into their operations to remain competitive. One of the information technologies they can integrate to enhance SMEs’ competitive advantage is the enterprise resource planning system. This study helps a company to select a system that best fits its business process needs. The selection criteria consist of three major factors: system quality, vendor’s service, and vendor’s resilience. The best-worst method is used to calculate the weight for each criterion. The results are discussed with the decision-makers to verify that they reflect the decision-makers’ considerations. The findings show that a low price alone is not enough to attract consumers to buy ERP products. On the product side, a strong ERP system’s brand reputation, the ease of customizing the system to a company’s business processes, and an easy-to-use ERP system user interface dominate the selection process. On the vendor side, vendor’s resilience, the vendor representative’s presentation skills, which demonstrate strong negotiation skills and a willingness to provide personalized service, dominate the selection process.
