<![CDATA[This article analyzes Lekoq Buaq marriage as a distinctive tradition of the Sasak Bayan community in Andalan Village, North Lombok, situating it as a customary practice that persists within the socio-religious dynamics of local society. The study investigates the stages of implementation and the symbolic meanings embedded in the customary procession. Employing a qualitative, phenomenological approach, the research utilizes observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving customary actors, religious figures, and local community members. The findings demonstrate that the Lekoq Buaq procession comprises several stages: merariq or mulang, selebaran, the role of the tukang pengeraos, sajikrama, nobat, and the formalization of the customary-religious marriage contract. Each stage serves not only as a marital procedure but also as a social mechanism for maintaining order, family honor, and communal recognition. The symbols of four coconuts, kepeng bolong, a rattan whip, pirangan, kereng putih, and cereng represent family unification, responsibility, social sanction, purity, and customary legitimization. The results indicate that Lekoq Buaq functions as a socio-religious praxis, operating as habitus, customary field, and symbolic capital within the Bayan community. Consequently, this tradition embodies Sasak Bayan cultural identity and serves as a medium for transmitting values, strengthening social solidarity, and harmonizing custom and religion amid social change, modernization, and evolving relationships among younger generations.]]>
