Abstract

Children's rights are part of the human rights enshrined in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. As a nation governed by the rule of law, Indonesia must protect human rights. However, as a democratic nation, Indonesia must implement the principle of democracy or people's sovereignty, namely guaranteeing the role of and citizens in the decision-making process. One effort to realize the principles of democracy is through general elections (Pemilu), in which political parties are among the participants. Furthermore, in a democratic state, political education is necessary for every citizen, including children. Based on this, The practice of the rule of law and democracy must be implemented harmoniously.
