Abstract

This study identified medicinal tree species used by the Dayak Meratus community in Tumingki, documented their traditional applications, and quantified their ethnobotanical importance. Data were collected through field observations, vegetation sampling in ten 20 × 20 m plots, and structured interviews with eight informants selected through snowball sampling. Use Report (UR), Use Value (UV), Frequency of Citation (FC), and Relative Frequency of Citation (RFC) were calculated. Sixteen tree species were recorded, eight of which (50%) were used medicinally. Bark was the most frequently used plant part (60%). Langsat had the highest UR (16) and UV (2.00), while langsat, keminting, jambu air, and durian were cited by all informants (FC = 8; RFC = 1.00). These findings document culturally important medicinal trees and provide a baseline for conserving local ethnomedicinal knowledge and guiding future pharmacological research.
