Abstract. This study aims to examine the effect of students' perceptions of the School Field Introduction Program (Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan/PLP) on their perceptions of pedagogical and professional competencies among prospective Islamic Education teachers. The research employed a quantitative approach using a case study method. The participants consisted of 30 Islamic Education students of Universitas Islam Bandung who carried out the PLP program at Al Falah Junior High School, Senior High School, and Vocational High School in Bandung City. The sample was determined using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the implementation of the PLP program was perceived as highly effective, with an achievement level of 82.6%. The regression analysis revealed that students' perceptions of the PLP program did not significantly influence their pedagogical competence (Sig. = 0.495 > 0.05), with a contribution of only 1.67%. However, students' perceptions of the PLP program had a significant positive effect on their professional competence (Sig. = 0.003 < 0.05), contributing 26.7% to the variance. These findings suggest that the PLP program effectively enhances prospective teachers' professional competence, particularly in mastering subject matter and applying it during instruction. Nevertheless, pedagogical competence requires longer teaching experience, continuous practice, and more intensive classroom engagement. Therefore, improving the quality and duration of the PLP program is recommended to optimize the development of prospective teachers' pedagogical competence.
