Abstract

Abstract. Low student participation in social worship learning remains a common problem in elementary schools, especially when learning is dominated by theoretical and classroom-centered approaches. Such approaches tend to limit students' active involvement physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. The Outdoor Learning method is considered an alternative learning strategy that utilizes the surrounding environment as a contextual and applicable learning resource. This study aims to determine the objectives, implementation, evaluation, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in improving student participation through social worship learning using the Outdoor Learning method at SDN Litajaya, West Bandung Regency. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects consisted of the principal, Islamic Education teacher, homeroom teacher, and students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that social worship learning through Outdoor Learning was implemented systematically through preliminary activities, core activities in the form of zakat and infaq simulations, and closing reflection. Student participation increased through active involvement in asking questions, discussing, working together, practicing social worship, and reflecting on learning experiences. Supporting factors included school support, teacher readiness, student enthusiasm, and cooperation between teachers and homeroom teachers. The inhibiting factors included limited time, differences in student characteristics, and classroom management challenges outside the classroom. This method proved effective in improving student participation while instilling values of social care, responsibility, and religious awareness.
