Household food security can be strengthened through the utilization of limited land by applying simple and easily implemented cultivation technologies. This community service activity aims to implement BUDIKDAMLON (Catfish and Lettuce Cultivation in Gallon Containers) as a simple aquaponic system to support household food provision. The activity was carried out through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) conducted by students of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya in Drancang Village, Menganti District, Gresik Regency, East Java. The implementation method employed participatory, educational, and demonstrative approaches consisting of preparation, socialization and education, demonstration and hands-on practice in constructing the BUDIKDAMLON system, maintenance, monitoring, and evaluation. BUDIKDAMLON integrates catfish farming and lettuce cultivation in a single gallon container by applying the basic principles of aquaponics. The implementation of this activity provided the community with practical experience in reusing gallon containers, preparing planting media, maintaining fish, and caring for plants within limited cultivation spaces. The application of this system demonstrates that aquaponic technology can be simplified into a household-scale cultivation model that is relatively easy to construct and does not require extensive land. In addition to producing animal- and plant-based food sources within a single system, BUDIKDAMLON also has the potential to promote the reuse of discarded containers and more productive use of household yard space. This activity demonstrates that BUDIKDAMLON can serve as an alternative simple technology for introducing household-level independent food production and supporting efforts to strengthen household food security in Drancang Village
