Abstract

Student affairs websites have a strategic role as information portals and digital administration services for students in higher education. However, problems related to the interface and user experience often hinder the effectiveness of conveying this information. This research aims to evaluate the level of usability of student affairs websites using a combination of quantitative System Usability Scale (SUS) methods and Usability testing functional testing. SUS testing involved 76 student respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques, while Usability testing measured five aspects of usability. The evaluation results show an average SUS score of 60.16, which categorizes the website into Marginal usability level (OK/Low Acceptable) and is below the standard benchmark value of 68.00. On the other hand, Usability testing results recorded excellent functional performance with an average score of 4.2 to 4.3 in the aspects of Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Error Handling and Satisfaction. The gap between marginal global perception and high functional performance shows that even though the main features of the website can operate well, the navigation hierarchy, interface layout and display responsiveness still require improvement. This research provides evidence-based recommendations for improving interface design to improve comfort and optimal user experience.
