Abstract

The development of digital technology provides many benefits in daily life, but it also increases access to various negative contents, such as online gambling and NAPZA abuse. Adolescents are among the most vulnerable groups due to their high intensity of internet and social media use, as well as the ease of obtaining information through digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the strengthening of digital literacy as a strategy for preventing online gambling and NAPZA abuse in school and community environments. Education was conducted through socialization activities, counseling, the use of information media, and interactive discussions involving schools, families, government, and communities. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through a literature review and field observations. The results showed that strengthening digital literacy can improve community understanding, particularly among adolescents, of the risks and negative impacts of online gambling and NAPZA abuse. In addition, digital literacy strengthens the ability to filter and evaluate information, increases awareness of negative content, and encourages collective awareness to create a healthy and safe environment. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy should be carried out continuously and involve various stakeholders as a preventive effort to address the negative impacts of digital technology development.
