Abstract

Geography learning outcomes among Class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Tigo Lurah were relatively low, as reflected in their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, which failed to achieve the expected learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve students’ geography learning outcomes through the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual (SAVI) approach. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design involving 15 secondary school students at SMA Negeri 1 Tigo Lurah during the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and tests, and analyzed using qualitative (data reduction, presentation, and conclusion) and quantitative (percentile) methods. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes across all domains: the average cognitive score increased from 71.0 in the first cycle to 89.9 in the second, while affective and psychomotor domains also showed marked progress. It can be concluded that the SAVI approach effectively enhances geography learning outcomes for secondary school students.
