Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains an important maternal health problem because it may affect maternal health and pregnancy outcomes. Based on the Maternal and Child Health Monitoring Program (PWS-KIA) of Sengkol Community Health Center in 2022, there were 1,011 pregnant women, including 145 pregnant women (14.34%) with anemia. In Tanak Awu Village, 26 pregnant women (13.00%) were reported to have anemia. This condition indicates the importance of understanding pregnant women's knowledge regarding anemia as part of maternal health efforts. This study aimed to describe the level of knowledge of pregnant women about anemia at Tanak Awu Polindes, within the working area of Sengkol Community Health Center, Central Lombok Regency, in 2023. This study used a descriptive research design. The population consisted of 43 pregnant women who received antenatal care at Tanak Awu Polindes in August 2023. A total sampling technique was applied, resulting in 43 respondents. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire concerning pregnant women's knowledge about anemia, while secondary data were obtained from maternal medical records. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and presented as frequency distributions and percentages. The results showed that 22 respondents (51%) had a moderate level of knowledge, 14 respondents (33%) had a good level of knowledge, and 7 respondents (16%) had a poor level of knowledge. The findings indicate that the majority of pregnant women had a moderate level of knowledge about anemia. These findings emphasize the need for continuous health education and counseling during antenatal care to improve pregnant women's understanding of anemia prevention and management.
