Abstract

The development of shallot agribusiness in East Lombok Regency, NTB, is not only oriented towards increasing production, but also providing production facilities, cultivation, post-harvest, marketing, and strengthening farmer institutions. The aims of this research areĀ  to: (1) Identify internal and external factors that influence the strategy for developing shallot agribusiness; and (2) Streamline and analyze alternative priorities for the strategy for developing shallot agribusiness. The method used in the research is a descriptive method, while data collection is carried out using survey techniques. Data were analyzed using the SWOT method. The results of the study show that: (1) Internal factors include strengths and weaknesses. Strengths include shallots as the main horticultural commodity, increasing harvest area each year, and highland and lowland cultivation land suitable for Bima Brebes and Philippine varieties. Weaknesses include the absence of certified seed producers, fluctuating productivity, and land contour obstacles in the application of irrigation technology. (2) External factors include opportunities such as support from the APBN-TP and APBD budgets, guidance on processing technology from the Horticulture Directorate, high demand, and the existence of shallot processing technology. Threats include shallot imports, pest and disease attacks, and uncertain climate conditions. The main strategic priority is to strengthen the implementation of GAP, followed by increasing production through the use of resources, development of certified seed businesses, inventory control, and development of processed shallot products.
