Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ self-confidence in completing IPAS tasks. The research employed aqualitative approach involving 20 students as research participants. Data were collected through observation,interviews, and a self-confidence questionnaire. Observations and interviews were conducted to explore students’actual behaviors and factors influencing their self-confidence, while the questionnaire was used as supporting datato examine students’ self-perceptions. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, andconclusion drawing. The findings indicate that based on observations and interviews, students’ self-confidence incompleting IPAS tasks remains relatively low. Students tended to hesitate, showed limited confidence in their ownanswers, and relied on assistance from peers and teachers. In contrast, the questionnaire results revealed thatstudents perceived themselves as having a high level of self-confidence. This discrepancy suggests a gap betweenstudents’ self-perceptions and their observable behaviors during the learning process. Therefore, this studyhighlights the importance of employing multiple data collection techniques to obtain a more comprehensiveunderstanding of students’ self-confidence in IPAS learning.
