Abstract

The family serves as the primary environment playing a crucial role in shaping a child's character and religiosity. However, a "broken home" situation—stemming from divorce, prolonged conflict, or familial disharmony—can impact the psychological and spiritual development of adolescents. This study aims to examine the dynamics of religiosity among adolescents from broken homes using a qualitative approach based on library research. Data were gathered from various sources, including books, scholarly journal articles, prior research findings, and relevant documents. Content analysis was employed to identify findings regarding the development of religiosity in these adolescents. The results indicate that religiosity among adolescents from broken homes is dynamic and influenced by both internal and external factors. Some adolescents experience increased spiritual closeness and turn to religion as a coping mechanism for life's pressures, while others experience a decline in religious engagement due to the emotional impact of family conflict. Social support from family, schools, peers, and religious communities also plays a role in their religious development. The study concludes that religiosity can serve as a source of psychological strength, helping adolescents from broken homes build resilience, find meaning in life, and positively adapt to various life challenges.
