Abstract

Birth preparation is essential for pregnant women, their husbands, and healthcare workers to ensure a smooth delivery and reduce the risk of complications. Adequate knowledge and husband’s support contribute to increasing the readiness of third-trimester pregnant women in facing childbirth. Objective: This study aims to determine the correlation between knowledge and husband’s support on birth preparation with the readiness of third-trimester pregnant women at Ketapang 2 Health Center, Sampit in 2025. Methods: This analytic quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted at Ketapang 2 Health Center, Sampit. A total of 35 third-trimester pregnant women were selected using accidental sampling. Data were analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test. Results: Most respondents had good knowledge about birth preparation (32 respondents; 91.4%) and received husband’s support (33 respondents; 94.3%). Thirty-four respondents (97.1%) were declared ready to face childbirth. Fisher’s Exact Test results showed a p-value of 0.026 (p ≤ 0.05), indicating a significant correlation between knowledge and readiness in facing childbirth, and a p-value of 0.057 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant correlation between husband’s support and readiness. Conclusion: Although not statistically significant, both knowledge and husband’s support remain important in improving the readiness of third-trimester pregnant women. Therefore, enhancing education and family support, especially from husbands, should remain a focus in birth preparation efforts
